Gifford Hill is situated 80km east of Adelaide and approximately 50 minutes drive by car along the free flowing South Eastern freeway, which connects Adelaide to the city of Melbourne. With only one right turn to the GPO, the trip to Adelaide is comparable to the Gawler to Adelaide or the Aldinga to Adelaide drive in terms of travel time.
The 809 hectare Gifford Hill site (approximately 400 AAMI Stadium football fields) lies within the Murraylands Region and sits just south of the Murray Bridge Town Centre, bounded by the South Eastern freeway to the north, Brinkely Road to the east, Usher road to the South and Koehler Road to the West.
The west-east sloping land has been utilized for farming, with pockets of dense vegetation that will be retained as part of the natural open-space areas of the new site. Gifford Hill has been identified as a new township growth area as part of the State Government’s 30 Year Urban Growth Plan.
