A series of eleven, 2 hour workshops were held in March 2011 as part of the exciting Imagine Your Rural City Murray Bridge 2020 initiative. Over 700 people attended overall in what has been described as the most intensive community engagement exercise ever undertaken in the region. All of the workshops were facilitated by Place making Consultant, the Village Well and Gifford Hill was discussed in most of the workshops. 2 workshops were completely dedicated to the new development.
The discussion and feedback in the workshops was inspiring and insightful. The data has now been processed and collated by the Village Well and the outcomes of all of the workshops were presented back to the community at the 'Imagination Celebration' in the Murray Bridge Town Hall in April 2011.
The communities' vision was condensed in to two key reports adopted by Council, namely a Place Making Report for the region, and a Community Values Report. These documents have been used as the basis for the new Murray Bridge Structure Plan, Rural Communities Study, Integrated Traffic and Transport Management Plan and Town Centre Master plan. As a second phase all of these Big Picture Vision documents are currently open for public consultation and the Rural City are holding two more nights of exciting workshops in the Murray Bridge Town Hall on 26th and 27th March 2012.
